Steam Page and Devlog

Hey Aurigans!

You may have noticed that our itch.io page was down for a few days. We have some very exciting news to share regarding that! We currently now have a Steam page for The Meaning of Auri, available for wishlisting now! It would mean the world to us if you checked it out. Don't worry though - on release day, we will be launching on itch.io as well, for those of you who prefer this platform. We've also formally incorporated our studio as Area 42 Games! If you wish, you can check out our socials here: https://linktr.ee/Area42Games. There's a really cute Discord server link in there where you can chat to the devs, if you so desire. (PS:  it comes with tons of cute alien emojis for Nitro users to use in any server as they wish!)

There are also incredibly monumental changes in our development of the game. We've since added lighting, shadows, particle effects, a logging system, and more! Moreover, we've also overhauled pretty much every sprite, and added a brand spanking new menu screen. Due to all of these changes, we find that this itch.io demo does not accurately represent the true version of The Meaning of Auri anymore. Due to this, we have disabled new downloads for the game. Previously installed downloads will still work, but the existing demo version has been removed from this itch.io page. Since this version of the demo vastly differentiates from the current, true state of the game, we've decided it would be best to avoid misleading new downloaders, and prevent new downloads until it's ready for our game to officially, truly launch.

Not to worry, however! We anticipate a release by the end of 2025 - and we're very excited to share the updated version of The Meaning of Auri with you. We weren't expecting something that started out as a small class project to grow so big, and we're working hard to build something all of us are proud of.
